Once onboard the ship today, we made our way immediately to our cabin on Deck 7. Our balcony stateroom features Celebrity's new Infinite Veranda, which almost feels like a sunroom addition to our cozy cabin. We know we shouldn't have favorites when it comes to cruise ship captains (truly, we love them all), but the fact that the charismatic captain Kate McCue has taken the reins of Celebrity Beyond is a big boon for passengers. Another innovation that debuted on Celebrity Edge, these rooms essentially see the entire living space become the veranda. The concept of splitting the main dining room into four (Normandie, Tuscan, Cosmopolitan and Cyprus) also appears on Celebrity Beyond. Celebrity Beyond might be bigger and, arguably, better than its fleetmates thanks to a myriad of new features, but it also carries all of the Edge-class hallmarks that have come to define these successful ships.
Food & Drink
There’s a primary bedroom, guest bedroom, two bathrooms, a dressing room, dining area and private hot tub. The Royal Suite features a small verandah but much more space inside, with 687 square feet. There’s a separate bedroom, a huge bathroom with a soaking tub and big vanity, bar area, powder room and other features that make this suite feel like a luxury loft in the city. The Celebrity Suite is where things get a bit bigger and more extravagant. The Celebrity Suites feature more than 400 square feet of interior space, as well as 100 square feet on the verandah. Inside, you get plenty of seating space and the seating area is separated from the bedroom.

Get away from the masses at the Retreat, a private resort area within the ship. As the Celebrity cruise line as a whole is more geared toward adults than families or kids, the entertainment trends this way as well. Aqua Sky Suites are the same size, but come with all of the amenities and services you’d get with the AquaClass in general, including special bedding, eco-friendly bathroom products and more. If you’re considering taking a Celebrity Beyond cruise, whether this is your first Celebrity cruise or you’ve been a stalwart fan of the cruise line for years, here’s what you need to know.
Dining choices
You won’t find white-gloved waiters standing to attention, or a requirement to wear black tie for dinner, or instructions to sit at the same table every night. If you haven’t cruised before, this is the ship that will challenge all your preconceptions. I was beyond thrilled to experience my first Edge-class ship during a two-night preview cruise to introduce Celebrity Beyond before its official debut cruise on April 27. The Oceanview Cafe buffet also has plenty of choices, at all hours of the day; the new bar at the pizza area, plus the proximity to the Sunset Bar makes it a nice choice if you want to stay casual. The Sunset Bar also has a new menu of $8 eats, such as hummus and flatbreads, for afternoon noshes. You have to search to find some venues; the Mast Grill is particularly hard to find on the Resort Deck, and many people forget about that healthy choices are available at both the Solarium and the Eden Cafe.
Tips for Sailing on Celebrity Beyond
From jaw-dropping artwork around the ship to the upmarket design of Le Voyage and the new World Class cocktail bar, Celebrity Beyond balances extraordinary beauty with functionality. When you consider the three-course menu at Boulud’s signature New York restaurant sets diners back $225 per person, $125 feels like a reasonable price for what could be some of the best modern French cuisine at sea. The ship features a spa and a fitness centre that overlooks the sea from above the wheelhouse. Our new housekeeping initiative allows you to earn rewards while reducing your footprint. Opt-in for reduced housekeeping services to conserve energy and resource consumption.
Normandie Dining Room
Even arriving here is something of a transformative experience, as you wander through Odyssey, a shimmering hall of mirrors dotted with vast, smooth rock-like formations in gleaming bronze. In Elements, you’ll be blown away by an additional star of the show, Daniel Wurzel’s “air fountain”, a silky sheet that flies, twirls and dances in a jet of air, at one point extending out over the audience. High flying acrobatics, dazzling visual effects, contemporary music, and intricate choreography are leaving audiences wowed on Beyond.
The Concierge Class of staterooms also offer Infinite Verandas, but additionally adds VIP services that you won’t get in other classes of cabins. Additionally, overall, while these ships offer plenty and are technically “mega” ships, they’re not among the largest in the world. If you’re looking to cruise on the biggest in the bunch, look to the latest offerings from Royal Caribbean. Simone Biles, 19-time World Champion and seven-time Olympic Medalist has added another very special title to her decorated career – godmother for Celebrity Beyond℠.
New Celebrity Ship Brings Style, Fine Dining, and Wellness to the High Seas
As so many other cruise lines have done, Celebrity has crafted The Retreat into a space upon its newer ships that’s like … well, a retreat! It’s for cruisers who want dining, pool areas and other venues away from the main cruising crowds. Celebrity Beyond features delicious culinary experiences, including a new restaurant by the world-renowned chef, Daniel Boulud. And, guests will delight in the plush AquaClass Sky Suites, which combine the best of AquaClass stateroom experiences with the luxurious spaces, services, and amenities of The Retreat. Adults will find serenity inside the Solarium, a peaceful area with a pool, two hot tubs, plenty of deck chairs (including two-person lounger beds with individual adjustable backs), but the spa on board Celebrity Beyond is where the real relaxation happens.
Eden Café offers a wide variety of morning beverages and casual culinary bites. Three stories of windows bring in the shimmering morning light to create a bright and airy atmosphere, and change as the mood shifts from breakfast to lunch, plus al fresco dining is available on either side of the café. The Celebrity Shops are a carefully curated collection of upscale brands and products that take your senses to The Edge, some of which you’ll find nowhere else. Celebrity Beyond will change the way you shop on vacation—no matter where in the world you travel. Behind an inviting, attention-getting bar, flair bartenders dazzle with gravity-defying skill as they craft creative cocktails.
There’s also The Retreat Lounge, where guests will find complimentary food and drinks throughout the day. The Retreat private resort within a cruise ship area for suite guests—with exclusive restaurant, sundecks, cabanas, and pool—is 40 percent larger on this ship compared with its peers. If you want even more privacy, the 1,900-square-foot Iconic Suites come with their own outdoor hot tubs and two-story Edge Villas feature private plunge pools. All our suites on Celebrity Beyond feature fresh color palettes and design details by Kelly Hoppen. As always, you’ll enjoy a butler, so you never have to lift a finger, along with luxurious amenities like eXhale® bedding, king-sized CashmereTM mattresses designed exclusively for Celebrity, and plush robes and slippers—just to name a few.

AquaClass lovers also have a new choice in rooms, with Sky Suites that combine the spa amenities of the category with Retreat access and personal concierge service. Still, we were surprised that the AquaClass upgrade didn't come with any changes to Blu, the dedicated restaurant. That said, be careful with where you book your suite, or room, particularly if you're a sun lover. Because the top deck on Celebrity Beyond stretches a bit over the ship itself, many of the rooms on the higher deck don't get any sun on their balconies (infinite or otherwise).
The leafy Hoppen-designed Rooftop Garden is bigger on Celebrity Beyond than on previous vessels with two eye-popping new plunge pools cantilevered seven meters over the edge of the ship. Eden, like so many aspects of Celebrity Beyond, represents another revolution in modern luxury travel. It’s a space where nature is so present, we call it “a room that lives.” It’s an experience so multi-faceted and innovative, you won’t find anything else like it as sea—or anywhere. Using both raw and refined elements with earth tones, pearlescent accents, and natural textures, we’ve created a sophisticated yet approachable restaurant.
